Tutor for Seventh/Eighth Grade Tutoring Center
Job Description: This is a part-time contract position for Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5 – 7pm for 12 weeks at $25/hr. The Tutor will be working with students from the Hudson Junior High School one-on-one or in small groups. They will be required to keep a record of each day’s work with individual students, attend a training session as an introduction to the philosophy and pedagogy of the Hudson Area Library’s Seventh/Eighth Grade Tutoring Center, and assist with the hosting of an introductory/informational and concluding/celebratory session with students and their
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with or knowledge of skills and content of junior high curriculum in Math and English.
- Interest in working one-on-one with junior high students and motivating them to improve academically.
- Experience working with youth.
- NYS Teaching Certification is a plus.

Youth Services and Programs Assistant
The Hudson Area Library is looking for a creative, proactive, and community oriented Youth Services and Programs Assistant to work in our busy library. This is a part-time position, requiring afternoon and evening hours, with occasional weekend hours. The Youth Services and Programs Assistant will assist the Library Director and Program Director with the day-to-day operation of the library including program assistance, circulation desk duties, reference services, public computer assistance and outreach activities, with a focus on supporting tweens and teens in their use of the library. The candidate must be reliable and organized, have strong interpersonal skills, and have professional experience working with young adults.
Work Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday 12-8pm, Thursday-Friday 12-5pm, and occasional weekend hours.
