Ghostly Gallop Overall Female and Male Winners, Shannon and Patrick LaChance, and members of the Cranna family
Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Ghostly Gallop 5k Race! After an unusual October snow storm, the skies cleared, the sun came out, and the race went on as scheduled!
First place in the Ghostly Gallop 5k race went to Patrick LaChance (18:36), followed by Eric Pierson (19:53), and Kenneth Pierce (20:04).
In the Kids Mile Run, Gabriel Case age 7 came in first (9:20), followed by Cameron Starke age 9 (9:32), and Eli Russo age 5 (9:51).
For the complete list with times see Ghostly Gallop Results.
This year’s race was especially meaningful to the library community as the event honored the late William F. Cranna. Bill Cranna, a former Board member and Friend of the Library, was instrumental in founding the Ghostly Gallop as a library FUNdraiser back in 2001. He was an avid runner, he loved to read, and the library was his passion. In honor of Cranna, the library has begun a new tradition – The William F. Cranna Memorial Cup, which will, from this day forward, be engraved with the names of the Ghostly Gallop winners each year and kept on display at the library.
The Ghostly Gallop Committee thanks the many people who worked to make this event a special day for the William F. Cranna Family. The Hudson Area Library greatly appreciates the response to this years race.
Special thank you to our volunteers and sponsors without whom this event would not be possible.
