Meet Samantha, our GG5K Profile of the Day! Last year, Claverack resident Samantha Riegel finished the New York City Marathon in just under 5 hours. She is now training for the Hudson Area Library’s GG5K – 2017. Although Riegel didn’t take up running until her late twenties, she is now an avid enthusiast. Hannaford Helps Bags in Support of the Friends of the Hudson Area Library

The Friends of the Hudson Area Library has been chosen by the Hannaford store on Route 82 in Livingston as the latest beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag program! This means every time you purchase a blue reusable bag with the good karma message at the Livingston Hannaford store during the month of September, the Friends will receive $1 to help fulfill their mission.

The bags can be found at the reusable bag rack and various registers (make sure to get the blue bags with the good karma message). By purchasing these reusable bags, you’ll not only be supporting the Friends, but also helping to eliminate waste by skipping the paper/plastic bag options at checkout.

Save the Date! – Sunday, October 22

The 17th annual Ghostly Gallop 5K Walk/Run and Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run to benefit our library will be held at Hudson High School on Sunday, Oct. 22.

The 5K course has been certified by the USA Track & Field and its entire length will be closed to traffic for the duration of the race. Other improvements include a runners’ costume competition and cash prizes for top adult runners, the fastest team, best costume and largest family entering in the combined events.

We want to make it fun for children, families and teams. It’s a great community event for Hudson and an important fundraiser for our Library. Visit the Ghostly Gallop website for more information and to register and check our GG5K Facebook page daily for tips on training, health and “all things race!”

Booked for the Evening Silent Auction Donors

The Hudson Area Library thanks the following donors who have given to our 2017 summer celebration, “Booked for the Evening,” silent auction. We couldn’t make our fundraising goals without the support of Warren Street and beyond!

We will be posting all the auction packages soon. It’s a great way to support our library and enjoy a little shop therapy while you’re at it!

If you’d like to attend “Booked for the Evening” on August 5, click here for more information!

Thank you!
