Art enthusiasts—picture this! Bargains abound at the Third Annual Art Book Sale, taking place for three days during Hudson’s ArtsWalk 2014.
This specialty book sale will be held in the Book Sale Room in the Hudson Library, started Saturday, October 4 and continues this weekend on Friday, October 10th and Saturday, October 11th from 10 til 2pm. The Book Sale Room and special Art Book Sale are sponsored by the Friends of the Hudson Area Library.
Featured will be hundreds of books on art, graphic design, crafts, photography, architecture and interior design, as well as titles on art history, artist’s monographs, biographies and various art techniques (watercolor, pastels, collage, etc.). This Saturday, August 23 and next, August 30th, the Friends are offering a special Back To School Book Sale from 10am-1pm. A perfect opportunity for teachers, parents, and of course, kids, to stock up on fun books for reading and learning!
Now that summer is almost over and the kids will be going back to school, books for classrooms and home bookshelves need to be replenished and the Book Sale Room has something for everyone, from toddlers to teens.
All kids books are specially priced to encourage reading throughout the year. Whether you’re looking to expand your kitchen’s library, improve your skills, or just try out some new recipes with great fresh ingredients, this special sale will offer an eclectic collection of vintage, new, and used cook books in many categories. Included will be titles for gourmet, quick meals and menus, summer barbecues and grilling, entertaining and ethnic cuisines. The Friends of the Hudson Area Library are offering thousands of kids’ books at bargain prices for two days so that kids from everywhere can have the opportunity to own great books at low cost. This is the perfect opportunity to bring the kids to the library, have some fun and stock up on great books to encourage reading throughout the summer!
This special sale will be held on Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd in the Book Sale Room from 10am until 2pm each day. In addition, there will be story time, crafts, games and activities in the Children’s Room in the library both days.
Besides the thousands of titles to choose from for every level reader, from toddlers to teens, a new feature this year will be a special selection of vintage children’s books. Great books from past times, these collector’s items are priced to sell and go fast!

The Friends will offer hundreds of cookbooks for sale on Friday April 4th from 1 to 4pm and Saturday, April 5th from 10 to 2pm in the Book Sale Room at the Hudson Area Library, 400 State Street, Hudson.
The Friends Holiday Book Sale continues the first two Saturdays in December, the 7th and 14th from 10am til 1pm and presents the perfect opportunity to give generous gifts that will bring the joy of reading to everyone on your list, at a price to fit your budget!
The sale offers many new and gently used books, all carefully chosen, sorted and displayed for easy browsing. There are also many vintage, collectable and specialty books in a multitude of categories, all affordably priced.

Mark your calendars—the last cookbook sale of the season will be on Saturday, September 14th from 10am-1pm under the Book Tent at the Hudson Farmers Market. The Market is located at 6th and Columbia Street in the municipal parking lot, rain or shine. With hundreds of cookbooks on a wide range of topics, you’ll be sure to find a book (or two!) of recipes and ideas to whet your appetite. Included in this terrific offering are books on appetizers, main courses, meats and poultry, entertaining, desserts and more.
