All Things Apple

We are proud to present our second series of All Things Apple, a class about using Mac computers, iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. This class is a four-week series meeting on Mondays, October 30, November 6, 13, 20, from 6-7pm.

In the class, instructor James Pendergrast will cover the use of iPhone, iPad, Mac computer, Apple Watch, and other Apple hardware and software products. Students will learn the basics of iPhone, iPad and Mac computer use as well as how to customize the device to work best for them; taking, editing and sharing photos on your device; utilizing iCloud services including backup and restoring data; using the Apple office products Pages, Numbers and Keynote; using the Photos program on the Mac to store, organize, and edit your photos.

It is recommended that attendees bring their devices and there will be Macbooks and iMacs available for use in the class. All levels, including beginners, are welcome.

All Things Apple with James Pendegrast

We are proud to present All Things Apple, a new class about using Mac computers, iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches; which will begin in June. This class is a four-week series on Mondays, June 5, 12, 19, and July 10, 6 – 7pm.

The class will be taught by James Pendergrast, a former Apple employee who was a certified trainer in the Soho Apple store for 11 years. In his former job, Mr. Pendergrast helped users successfully navigate and get the best out of their Apple computers and devices. He was also the editorial cartoonist for Rolling Stone magazine for over twenty years,  had drawings in Tennis Magazine, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal and has published two books of his drawings. iPad Basics and Computer Class for Beginners – Sign Up Today!

We have two adult computer classes scheduled for November. The first class will focus on iPad basics and the second class will cover computer file organization for beginners.

iPad Basics
Saturday, November 7, 10am-11:30am
Learn the functions of various icons, how to add an app to an iPad, how to change the iPad settings, how to copy/paste/print, and how to access the Internet. All participants must bring their own iPad to the class.

Beginners – Basic Computer File Organization
Friday, November 13, 12:30-2pm
Learn where files can be stored for easy access, how to find programs and documents, and how to bookmark a page and save a page as a Favorite for future review.

We will also review how to choose a computer for purchase – What is the best fit for me? Lastly we will review Internet Connections – How to get on and where to go? (Time Permitting – Emailing/Printing)

This course will focus primarily on the creation of a cover letter and resume. All participants should bring the following items to the class: resume (job history – with dates/locations), flash drive (if available). You’ll learn how to set-up a resume, what choices you have within the templates that Microsoft Word provides and how to manipulate the look of them for your own needs.

Why all the fuss about Facebook? Facebook is one of the leading social media connections. In this course we will learn how to set-up an account and how to manage the settings in the account for privacy/use. You will also learn how to locate long-lost family/friends/etc.
