HAL TAC Movie Matinee

Program Description: It’s a half day of school! HAL TAC (Hudson Area Library Tween Advisory Council) will be hosting a special version of their on-going Movie Matinee Series. This month’s feature is 2019’s Pokémon Detective Pikachu. Detective Pikachu tells the story of a world where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective.

Date/ Time: Thursday, November 14, 12:30-3pm

Registration/Suggested Audience: This movie is open to tweens, teens and families and is held as part of the Council’s ongoing Saturday Movie Matinee series. As usual for matinees there will be raffle prizes and free popcorn. Puppet Play & Craft w/ Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School

Program Description: For a special library Story & Craft Hour, the Early Childhood teachers from the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School present, “Nkosnati and the Dragon: A South African Tale of Courage,” a puppet play for young children, with drumming, singing and a craft.

Time/Date: Saturday, March 23, 11am-12pm

Suggested Audience: Children from birth to 8 years old and their families.

High Five! Our Early Family Literacy Programs Returns this January!

Program Description: The library and Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood’s early family literacy 5-week program includes “Weaving Tales & Oral Traditions to Develop Literacy”, “Cooking as a Means of Encouraging Literacy in Your Child” and “Stuck Indoors? Literacy Ideas for Snowy Days”. Story & Craft Hour, parent discussion & lunch. Door prizes & free books each Saturday. $25 gift certificate to Rolling Grocer 19 for regular attendees.

Date/Time: Saturdays, January 5, 12, 19, 26 & February 2/11am-1pm

High Five! Our Early Literacy Family Program Is Back!

Program Description: The library and Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood are proud to announce another 5-week series of High Five! Families with a child, birth to five, can join a supportive community and learn everyday, fun activities to help build their child’s reading skills! Trips, free books & prizes! October 27  Our last High Five! of the fall season will be with folkteller & performance artist Pamela Badila and Library Exploration educator Eileen Ordu. We will have a special Halloween story hour (not too scary!) and a Halloween party for our High Five! families. Lunch, free children’s books & door prizes!
