Want to Learn the Most Widely Spoken Language in the World? Now You Can!

The Friends is pleased to announce the next installment of Adult Mandarin Chinese Language Classes. This series of free classes will begin on Wed. Sept. 17th and will offer community members the opportunity to read, write and speak Mandarin from a native speaker.

Wendy Mandarin

This eight-week course will be lead by our own Shi Wen “Wendy” who grew up in the city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, on the Southeast coast of China. A longtime staff member, she will introduce students to vocabulary and phrases using Chinese pinyin—writing and reading phonetically using the Romanized alphabet. Students will also learn how to read and write simple Chinese characters.

The first two classes will serve as an introduction for new students. Previous students are  also welcome to attend these refresher classes.

All classes will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 on Wednesdays at the Library.  Space is limited and registration is required (ages 18 and over).  To learn more or sign up, please contact the library 518.828.1792 today.
