Final Multicultural Adventures Program of 2014!

OperationUniteChinaThemeMulticulturalAdventuresThe Multicultural Adventures program with Operation Unite wraps up this week with a multicultural celebration! Join us as we explore different countries and cultures through music, dance, stories, crafts, and other fun activities! The final program will includes a picture craft from Bangladesh, henna hand art from India, music and dance from Turkey, and poetry, music & dance from Colombia. The program will be held on Thursday, December 11 from 3:45-5pm in the Children’s Room. All ages are welcome! We hope you will join us!

This free community arts program, a collaboration with Operation Unite, is made possible in part with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered through the Community Arts Grants Program by the Greene County Council on the Arts.


Last Chance to Register for “Food Scientists” at the Library!

Join us for our first special kids program of the summer! “Food Scientists,” with Cornell Cooperative Extension Nutrition Education Jaime O’Donnell, will be held on Tues., June 24 and Thurs. June 26 from 4:00-5:00PM each day.

Kids will find out the answers to such questions as, “Why does food steam and sizzle when it cooks?” and “Why does soda have bubbles in it?”

Holiday Fun in the Kids Room!

The Children’s Room is always a fun place to be, with opportunities for reading, drawing, painting, imaginative play, and crafting. This week, in addition to our regularly scheduled programs, we have some special programs to make it that much more exciting!

Kwanzaa celebration

Kwanzaa Celebration with Operation Unite

Operation Unite will host a special Kwanzaa celebration, including drumming, singing, & a candle ceremony.

Holiday Party
Thursday, December 19, 3-5pm

Join us for some holiday fun, including holiday-themed crafts and stories. Snacks will be served too!

The Children’s Room will also be staffed while the Hudson City School District is on Winter Break. We hope you’ll join us!


Make Some Noise (Yes, Really!) In The Library!


Come make some beats (and some noise!) in the kids room with us! Kuumba Dance and Drum, a performing arts program of Operation Unite, will be joining us in the kids room on Wednesday, July 17 from 5:30 – 6:30pm. Come learn how to play traditional African music on the drums with us. Children and families of all ages are welcome to help us make some music!
