Kuumba Dance and Drum Academy/Operation Unite Education and Cultural Arts Center kick off their Rhythm Feet Part II tap dance program on Saturday, April 4 at 1:30pm at the Library with a family presentation of the history of tap dance. Dance artist, Stefanie Weber, will lead the presentation and offer a tap demonstration. All are welcome. Come make some beats (and some noise!) in the kids room with us! Kuumba Dance and Drum, a performing arts program of Operation Unite, will be joining us in the kids room on Wednesday, July 17 from 5:30 – 6:30pm. Come learn how to play traditional African music on the drums with us. Children and families of all ages are welcome to help us make some music!
Join us during Spring Break for a celebration of Bengali heritage with hands-on participation, a children’s story, music, and traditional dress. This special program will be held on Thursday, April 21st, from 3:30-5:30pm, in the library’s Children’s Room.
This program is part of the Cultural Stories and Dance Series, presented by the Kuumba Dance and Drum in collaboration with the Hudson Area Library and supported by Operation Unite, New York and the Columbia County Council on the Arts through the New York State Decentralization Grant.
