Seventeen year old Shamim Amiri grew up in Bamyan, Afghanistan. She has been a student at the Berkshire Waldorf High School since the Fall of 2014.
For her Girl Scout Gold Award project Shamim has created a special six-session program called Learn Persian, which will meet at the library on Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm starting August 4 and running through September 8. All are welcome.
In the program, Shamim will introduce participants to the Persian language, including the alphabet, numbers and some basic phrases. She will also share her knowledge of Afghan culture and religion.
The library’s Adult Spanish Language Class will begin meeting again on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:15pm.
This free weekly program offers adult learners an opportunity to develop and enhance their conversational Spanish skills in a fun, mixed-level class. Learn to express yourself in real life situations and improve your Spanish language skills for work, travel, or just for fun! Lessons include grammar and vocabulary as well as an introduction to arts and culture from different countries.
