UPDATE: This project has been fully funded. Thank you all, donors and those who shared our Go Fund Me fundraising campaign! We need your help to restore a unique map of the City of Hudson that dates back to 1871. The map is at the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, MA awaiting treatment to clean and stabilize it. Thanks to a generous donor, we recently acquired this map for our History Room. Following its restoration, the map will be on display at the library and available digitally for public access. The map measures 4′ x 5′ and features 19 line drawings of prominent buildings. It’s current condition is legible but extremely fragile.
We have created a GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary funds for the restoration project. For more information and to make a donation click here. All persons making a donation will have a unique opportunity to see the original copy up close and personal after restoration.
This map will be a valuable resource and a source of civic pride. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this valuable preservation project. Continue reading
