Memorialize a Loved One in the Book of Remembrance

BookOfRemembranceWe are proud to announce an important addition to the list of ways someone can be remembered at the Library. Board Member and former Librarian Betsy Hamilton has donated a Book of Remembrance that is on display in the Library. If you would like to make a donation in memory of a friend, acquaintance or loved one, stop by or contact the library to make a donation and to record their name in the book. The amount can be kept confidential if you choose. There are so many who have valued the Library throughout their lives, this is a way to help us grow and be equally as valued for years to come. For more information, contact the library at or 518-828-1792.

Goodbye to our dear friend Kathleen Hintze

Kathleen, a 20+ year employee of the Hudson Area Library and a familiar face and voice to hundreds of library visitors over the years, passed away early Wednesday morning. Although struggling for years from her bouts with cancer, Kathleen was at work at the library until the end of October. She was admitted into hospice care at St. Peter’s Hospital earlier this week. Her dear friend and our colleague Janet Miller was with her throughout her last day.

We will join together on Sunday, November 27, from noon-3:00pm, at Kozel’s Restaurant on Rte. 9H to celebrate the memories we have of our dear friend Kathleen. If you have any pictures, interesting stories, or a memory to share, please join us. If you plan on attending, please sign up at the library circulation desk. Dinner will be paid individually.

If you would like to make a donation to the library in memory of Kathleen, please see Janet, Anne, or Emily. Donations will go towards the purchase of DVDs for the library collection.
