Living Poetry at the Library with Mahogany L. Browne & Jive Poetic

Program Description: Living Poetry at the Library with poets Mahogany L. Browne & Jive Poetic is an evening of poetry, prose, and performance. This annual literary event celebrates and introduces diverse literary artists to community members presenting different literary traditions to the community as an opportunity for cultural exchange and growth. A discussion and reception follows the reading, allowing audience members to share their reactions, and to interact with the poets and each other.

This program is part of the library’s inaugural Curator-In-Residence program with Mahogany L. Browne, in celebration of the library’s 60th Anniversary.

Living Poetry at the Library: A Collaboration with Fence and The Home School

Program Description: In collaboration with Fence and The Home School, we are pleased to host Living Poetry at the Library. Poets reading include Tess Brown-Lavoie, whose Lite Year won the Fence Modern Poets Series prize; Edgar Garcia, a Neubauer Family Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago; and Ariana Reines whose books of poetry include The Cow, Coeur de Lion, and Mercury.

Living Poetry at the Library: Divya Victor/Cat Tyc

Program Description: This ​event represents an ongoing collaboration between Fence, a ​locally produced, ​nationally renowned literary ​press, and the Home ​School, an annual poetry conference that takes place ​in Hudson ​every summer and which brings more than 60 poets to meet, study, read, and write. ​This collaboration puts visiting poets and the Home School community in touch with our local community of readers and writers at the library.​
