The library is excited to announce that for the month of October the Tween Advisory Council is exhibiting creative writing made during our summer Creative Writing & Performance workshop with Nuyorican poet and editor Joey de Jesus. The Incident Report Viewing Station is located at 348 Warren St. The installation features two blown up works on paper and free copies of a zine made specifically for the exhibit.
INCIDENT REPORT is an experimental viewing station located in Hudson, NY. They offer an interface between the many publics of the street, and the concepts and issues generated by artists and social thinkers. They engage in formally arranged projects, as well as improvised situations. They are always open.
Program Description: Hudson Area Library’s Tween Advisory Council is pleased to present another Saturday Movie Matinee. This month’s feature will be of the Hayo Miyazki’s classic Spirited Away. Spirited Away tells the story of 10-year-old Chihiro and her parents who stumble upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park. After her mother and father are turned into giant pigs, Chihiro meets the mysterious Haku, who explains that the park is a resort for supernatural beings who need a break from their time spent in the earthly realm, and that she must work there to free herself and her parents.

Registration/Suggested Audience: This movie is open to tweens, teens and families and is held as part of the Council’s ongoing Saturday Movie Matinee series. Hudson Area Library’s Tween Advisory Council is pleased to announce a new club for tweens and teens in the community. Languages Club is a weekly meeting place for tweens and teens to casually hang out in an immersive environment to learn Spanish, Arabic and Bangla facilitated by the bilingual members of the Tween Advisory Council.

Hudson Area Library’s Tween Advisory Council, is a new committee made up of youth (ages 8-12) who take on a leadership role in creating and hosting library events and workshops for their peers.
The council is pleased to announce their first event: A free screening of 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 4:30pm in the library’s community room. The council will also be providing free popcorn, treats and door prizes! This event is open to tween and teens in the community.
