Program Description: We are excited to announce that in celebration of the library’s 60th Anniversary, Award-winning poet, writer and organizer Mahogany L. Browne will be presenting her Woke Baby Book Fair, a celebration of diversity in Children’s literature with readings, face-painting, and fun for the whole family.
Woke Baby Book Fair is a multi-media, multi-disciplinary, intergenerational public program that includes storytelling, crafts, and other hands-on fun activities. The fair will focus on social justice-themed children’s books that highlight diversity from classic children’s picture books by authors such as Eloise Greenfield and Vera B. Williams to the latest children’s authors.
Date/Time: TBD – Originally to be held Saturday, April 4, 11am-1pm
This program is part of the library’s inaugural Curator-In-Residence program with Mahogany L. Browne, in celebration of the library’s 60th Anniversary and is made possible through the generous support of Club Helsinki Open Mic, The Maker, the Francis J. Greenburger Foundation, and John Knott.
