eBooks Now Available

Overdrive Ebook and AudiobookseBooks are now available through OverDrive to library card-holders at the Hudson Area Association Library and throughout the Mid-Hudson Library System. OverDrive is available 24/7 and there are never any late fees! You can check out OverDrive online at http://mhls.lib.overdrive.com. An eBook is a digital book, magazine, or graphic novel that can be downloaded and read on a computer or portable device. The Barnes & Noble nook, the Sony Reader, and the Kobo eReader are all compatible. You can also use your Windows PC or Mac computer or laptop with Adobe Digital Editions to access eBooks. The Kindle is not compatible at this time. OverDrive has released apps for iPhone and Android, allowing patrons to download both EPUB eBooks and MP3 audiobooks directly to their iPhone, iPod touch, or Android phone/tablet. New users can search for “OverDrive Media Console” in the Apple App Store and Android Market, while current users will be alerted to update the existing OverDrive app on their devices. Currently the iPhone app will work on iPad with iOS 4, enabling the full browse, check out, download experience. An optimized version for iPad with improved resolution and additional features is coming soon, along with apps for BlackBerry and other mobile devices.
