The design of the new library at the Armory (5th and State Streets.) is almost complete. A design review was held recently in NYC with the architect Vincent Benic and his team (Winnie Moy and Lauren Printz). Dan Kent from the Galvan Foundation and Theresa Parsons, Mark Orton, and Library Director Emily Chameides attending.
With a just a few items outstanding the final cost estimates will be completed and we will be ready for the job of creating the detailed construction documents.
Construction Starts
Construction is still targeted to begin this Fall.
Mark Your Calendars: Open House at the Armory Saturday June 22, 2013
The Capital Campaign Committee of the Board of Trustees will hold an open house for the community on Saturday 6/22/13 from 11am to 2pm. People will be able to tour a layout of the new library, view large drawings and watch projections of the plans. Guides will be on hand to lead visitors through the design and explain many of its features. The event is designed for families so bring along the kids.
