Make art at the Hudson Area Library this July with artist and teacher Alison Fox! Three free classes for children ages 5 and up will be held during the last three Fridays in July from 3-5pm in the library’s children’s room. Kids are welcome to join us for 1, 2, or 3 classes!
Registration is appreciated but drop-ins are welcome. Call 518-828-1792 for more information or to sign up.
First Class: Fast Words/Slow Words
Friday July 12, 3-5pm
Kids will make silk-screen prints of words that they would like to slow down and examine. We will explore how poetry creates space to imagine what the poet is communicating and how different a word can be when we make art with it.
Second Class: Library Totem
Friday July 19, 3-5pm
Kids will go through the library and find images that they would like to take out of context and put within their own context. They will start a collection of images that they like, make photocopies of them and then paint them.
Third Class: Beautiful Book
Friday July 26, 3-5pm
Kids will practice making an accordion-fold book with a sewn binding cloth cover and do water colors and water color pencils on the inside.
