Starting this September, Hudson Area Library will host a brand new set of children’s programs for kids of all ages called The Kids First Initiative. The Initiative aims to help foster positive outcomes and support academic achievement for the children of our community through new educational programming. Here are the new programs which will be added to the regular children’s schedule:
Tuesday: Kids Fun Night
3:30-7:30pm- Weekly- All Ages
Join us for an evening of all-ages activities, including Twister challenge, music, poetry, puzzles, games, as well as jewelry, collage, and bookmark making.
Wednesday: Learn to Read Program
3:30-4:30pm- Weekly- Ages 3-6
This early literacy program aims to foster a love of reading in the youngest members of our community. Through age appropriate activities, children will practice the alphabet, learn sight words, and read stories. Parents are welcome to participate.
Thursday: Kids Lego Club
3:00-4:30pm- Weekly- All ages
The Kids Lego Club is open to children ages 2-14 who are ready to put their imagination and building skills to work in a fun and creative atmosphere. Children can work on their own creations or in teams. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver aged 13 or older. The library will provide Legos and Duplo bricks for use in the club.
Friday: Time to Dance!
September 13- 3:30-5:00pm- All ages
Through music, dance, and collaborative online research, kids will learn about a new type of music at each session while being physically active and having fun! Our first session will cover salsa music. NOTE: This program will continue each 2nd Friday of the month.
Friday: Kids Career Workshops
September 27- 3:30-5:00pm- All ages
Join us in exploring a different career at each session. Our first session will be about becoming a teacher. NOTE: This program will continue each 4th Friday of the month.
Saturday: Drop-In Children’s Activities
12:00-3:00pm- Weekly- All ages
Children of all ages are welcome to stop by and join us in crafts, stories and other fun activities in the Children’s Room.
