March is Youth Art Month, so let’s create & get messy! According to The Council for Art Education, Youth Art Month is an “annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art & art education for all children.” On Tuesday afternoons, Ms. Jaclyn will facilitate different art projects that will be displayed in the library, so be sure to stop by! Youth Art Month will culminate with a special watercolor landscape class with artist Lea Springstead.
We have a new monthly program beginning this month called “First Friday Mosaic of Hudson.” This program will celebrate, from children’s perspectives, the diverse array of cultures in our community through storytelling, dress, food, games, toys, & special customs. We are looking for kids & families to come in & share stories from their own cultures, so if you are interested, let us know!
Also new this month is “Story Time on the Go,” an early literacy program that will visit a new location in Hudson each month. Our first Story Hour on the Go will be at Camphill Solaris. Story Hour on the Go, along with our second month of special early literacy story hours at the library, are made possible with support from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s Early Literacy Grant.
The Children’s Room special events calendar is listed below. To see a list of ongoing programs, visit our programs page on our website.
