The warmer weather, fresh produce, and the Friends of the Hudson Area Library’s annual Colossal Cookbook Sale bring the opportunity to spice up your summer with fresh and fun recipes. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills, for fresh ideas for your picnic basket this season, or new recipes to entertain with, this sale is the place to get started! Foodies will delight in browsing the hundreds of cookbooks for sale on Friday, June 19 from 1 to 4pm and Saturday, June 20 from 10am to 2pm in the Book Sale Room at the Hudson Area Library, 400 State Street, Hudson.
From vintage cookbooks to classics that everyone should have–both new and gently used books will be offered at discounted prices. Included in this large selection are cookbooks for quick and easy meals, baking, gourmet recipes, entertaining and menu guides, as well as many ethnic cuisines. Choose from categories to quell any hungering you may have for: soups, stews and casseroles, appetizers and hors d’oeuvres, pasta, meats and main dishes, seafood, vegetables and side dishes, desserts, and of course, beverages and libations to complement the meals.
Hungry yet? Keep in mind that cookbooks make great gifts too. Whether it’s for the bride-to-be, the serious chef, the food lover, or the occasional host on your list– you’ll be sure to find something for everyone you know. In addition to this special sale, there are always thousands of titles to choose from in the Book Sale Room. There are books in more than fifty categories, including art, travel, gardening, poetry, memoir, history, classics, fiction, humor, sports and as always, hundreds of children’s books for all reading levels. Our inventory is the largest in the area! Movies, audio books, and music also available for discounted prices.
The Friends of the Hudson Area Library is an advocacy and support group dedicated to the increasing public awareness, literacy, and services of the Library. A 501c(3) non-profit organization, proceeds from the Friends’ fundraising go to the Library for the acquisition of books and other media and for the development and delivery of the Library’s services.
