Making Musicals – A Concert with Conversation
Sunday, October 9, 6pm
Community Room, Hudson Area Library
Tickets
Composer/lyricist Neil Bartram (R) and director/writer Brian Hill (L) will be sharing stories of their myriad projects – including conceptual ideas and songs, during a performance at the Hudson Area Library on the Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend, October 9 at 6pm.
From their keyboards to opening nights, hear music peppered with stories from behind the Broadway curtains. For a separate admission, meet and mingle at a private dinner following the performance.
Neil and Brian will offer a sneak preview of tunes and stories from projects that are currently in the works:
- An adaptation of Gene Roddenberry’s Something Wicked This Way Comes
- Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks
- Senza Luce, an original production about a town buried so deeply in the Italian Alps that it never sees the light of day
- You are Here, a one-woman musical
- An adaptation of Universal Film’s October Sky
In addition to songs and stories, Neil and Brian will share film excerpts from Broadway productions and rehearsals to illustrate the jump from the private creative process to the final presentation.
Please join us for a wonderful evening.
