In a bow to the Halloween season and the name of the event, the 2017 Ghostly Gallop will include a costume competition with prizes to be awarded in both children’s and adults categories. All entrants must compete wearing their costumes during the 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run.
One prize will be awarded to the adult wearing the most creative outfit. That prize includes a $100 gift certificate from Pilates Hudson and a $25 gift certificate from American Glory. For children, trophies will be awarded for costumes in several categories: Most Creative, Most Patriotic, Best Action Hero, Best Ghost/Goblin or Scariest, and Best Character from a Book. Teams are invited to wear outfits during the race, however no team costume prizes will be awarded.
This Ghostly Gallop is a benefit for Library. Proceeds are used to increase programming, support the day-to-day running of the Library and, of course, to provide more reading and research opportunities. The event will be held on Sunday, October 22, at Hudson High School, 215 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson. Costume judging will start promptly at 10:30am. The Kids Fun Run starts at 11:00am and the 5K Run/Walk steps off at 11:30am. Early registration continues until October 6. After that date, prices will increase by $5 per person.
