The library, in collaboration with Out Hudson, is proud to present Drag Queen Story Time, Saturday, May 26 from 11am-12pm.
Drag Queen Story Time is a family-friendly and inclusive event with Ella Ghent, a local drag performer. Striving to celebrate differences, breaking down barriers and of course dressing up, Ella Ghent will be reading stories, accompanied with a ukulele, that celebrate diversity, self expression and creativity. There will be also be a drag treasure chest with costumes for kids and complimentary cookies from Trixie’s Oven.
Ella Ghent lives in the city of Hudson; she is a multi talented performer in speech, drama, movement, storytelling, song and clowning. Locally she was in the 2015 Hudson Pride Parade; was featured in the sitcom play ‘Twisted’ at Red Dot; unicycled in the 2016 Out Hudson parade and has performed at Waterworks Pub in Albany. Ella has studied Waldorf education and has performed at Club Helsinki Open Mic.
All kids and families are welcome. This program is free and open to the public.
OutHudson was formed to bring awareness of LBGTQ issues in Columbia County, NY. In addition to sponsoring multiple events throughout the year, it is the sponsor of the LGBTQ Pride Weekend in Hudson, NY on June 16-18. In early 2017, OutHudson applied for its not-for-profit status to become a recognized 501(c)3 in the state of New York.
