Run the Rip!

Program Description: As part of our Ghostly Gallop events, we will hold a “Run the Rip” one-mile run/walk across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge walkway. “Run the Rip” will be an informal self-timed time-trial-style event in which runners and walkers will start individually at specified intervals. The event is free and participation is limited to 50 people. People of all ages and abilities are welcome. Every participant will receive a “Run the Rip” t-shirt and $5 off their registration fee for the Ghostly Gallop to be held on Sunday, October 21, at the Hudson Junior/Senior High School.

The Ghostly Gallop 5k, started in 2001, is a fund-raiser to benefit the Hudson Area Library. Runners compete for the William F. Cranna Memorial Cup, named for the late former Library Board member who co-founded the race along with then-Library Director Frank Rees and fellow board member the Hon.
