WINTER HACK: Video Poetry with Jive Poetic
Winter Hack is a digital arts media camp for tweens and teens, taught by practicing artists. This session, youth participants will have the opportunity to take a writing workshop with poet and educator Jive Poetic. Participants will create video poems, taking language into image, using their original poems to make videos. These poems will be published on the library YouTube channel and be on display at the library. Poet Mahogany L. Browne guest curates this year’s Winter Hack session.
DIBS: Streetwear Design with Bergen Hendrickson
Local artisan Bergen Hendrickson (Big Ant) will work with participants to create their own unique designs for caps, shirts, and patches. DIBS, or Do It Better Series is a series of workshops that pairs participants with an expert in a particular field to help define, refine and explore in a judgement-free zone. This program is sponsored by HAL TAC (Hudson Area Library Tween Advisory Council).
