UPDATE: Out of concern for the well-being of our community, all Hudson Area Library programs, classes, group meetings, and events are suspended through March 31. For information on precautions to stay healthy, for links to government websites with the latest news on Covid-19, and for links to our library online resources visit this link.
Program Description: Members of the community are invited to join us for a intergenerational cooking workshop on Chinese dumplings facilitated by long time Library employee Wendy Kanel.
Wendy Kanel was a chef in Hangzhou, China, before relocating to America 17 years ago. Upon her arrival to the area she came to the library to attend ESL classes, which eventually led to her volunteering at the library, before transitioning as a staff member working at the circulation desk.
Wendy reflects on her time at the library: “After working here [at the library] I’ve learned so much about American culture by reading and interacting with the community that led to improving my English.” In the past, Wendy has taught Mandarin classes at the library and has offered Chinese dumplings workshops for a wide range of ages in the Hudson Valley area. With this program, she is excited to continue the tradition of cultural exchange within the community.
Date/Time: Friday, March 20, 5:30-7pm. This program is open to all ages.
Registration: To register for the program email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 518-828-1792 x101.
This program is part of the on-going intergenerational programming collaboration between the City of Hudson Senior Center and the Hudson Area Library.
