Program Description: While we have postponed our Woke Baby Book Fair, we are excited to kick off the Woke Baby Challenge! Curator-in-Residence Mahogany L. Browne and our library will be challenging children and families to take on weekly challenges inspired by children’s books celebrating diversity.
Each Saturday in April, a new challenge will be announced and families will have one week to take on the challenge and post their entries on social media. Mahogany and Library staff will choose two winners each week who will receive a prize pack of books including Woke Baby and Woke: A Young Poet’s Call to Justice by Mahogany L. Browne and an additional selection from Mahogany’s Woke Baby Book List.
To join the fun, make sure to follow Mahogany L. Browne and the Hudson Area Library on Instagram and Facebook. We will post the weekly challenges and announce winners on our social media pages and on our Mahogany L. Browne Curator-in-Residence page.
Date/Time: This contest will run throughout the month of April. The challenge for the week will be announced on Saturday mornings on the library’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The Curator-In-Residence program with Mahogany L. Browne is made possible through the generous support of Club Helsinki Open Mic, The Maker, the Francis J. Greenburger Foundation, John Knott, and private donors.
