Our Historical (Hysterical) Plunge

The Oakdale Plunge 2021: Hudson Safe was historic! All the more so because the Hudson Area Library History Room Team was sporting historic costumes and, of course, their historic community spirit. The event is a fundraiser benefiting the Hudson Youth Department and the Hudson Fire Department’s Water Rescue and Dive Team. We thank everyone who so generously donated to our team’s efforts.

The History Room has partnered with the Hudson Youth Department, the Friends of Hudson Youth, and the Friends of Oakdale Lake on a History of Oakdale Summer Camp program, youth summer field trips, tween programs, and an exhibit on Oakdale Park History. We are also archiving historic photographs from the Hudson Youth Department.

This past spring, when the youth center was closed due to the pandemic, the Hudson Youth Department and the Friends of Hudson Youth turned on a dime and served the needs of many families in Hudson with food and information distribution. We were happy and proud to support their efforts and are always proud of our work with these organizations. Congratulations to all on another successful fundraiser!
