Seeds of Community! A Library of Local Event with K. Greene of Hudson Valley Seed Co.

Program Description: To kick off the openings of the Library of Local seed libraries within our library, the Kingston Library and Mountain Top Library in Tannersville, and to salute the Morton Seed Library in Rhinecliff, renowned seed expert K. Greene will explore the art, beauty and generosity of seeds. Whether you’ve been gardening for years or are contemplating the idea for the first time, this presentation will provide just the inspiration and info you need to start off the planting season.

Presenter Bio: In 2004 K Greene started the United States’ first seed library within a public library, in Gardiner, NY. Seeds swept K away, and in 2008 he and Doug Muller grew the library into the Hudson Valley Seed Company, whose regional seed farm is devoted to ethically producing seed for home gardeners and farmers, and celebrating seeds through art. HVSC packets are well known for their stunning designs created by local artists. K is also the founder/director of Seedshed, a non-profit organization focused on growing seed justice for seed beings.
