The Fix-It Picnic: Clothing Swap (Wednesday, December 10)

Join us for a free clothing swap with guest artists, Ariele Max and Sarah LaPeter! Bring clean and cute clothing you don’t want. Take clean and cute clothing you do want. Everything that is left behind will be distributed to local donation centers, thrift stores and free stores (check Cherry’s World Instagram stories to see where everything ends up).

As usual, there will also be plenty of time to work on the sewing, t-shirt weaving, mending, or crafting projects of your choice. The LikeMindedObjects team will be on hand with supplies and tools to help develop your skills. Open to all ages and skill levels!

Dates/Time: Wednesday, December 10, 5 – 7:30pm

Location: Hudson Area Library Community Room

Registration: Registration is not required. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come basis.

Cherry’s World began as a simple project to help a family member declutter and sell some of their belongings when it all became too overwhelming. What started as that small act of support has since grown into an online store with vintage and contemporary clothing, glassware, rare objects and props from photoshoots and television shows. The idea for the shop also took shape when Ariele, who previously worked for Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live, noticed that many incredible props were destined for the trash after a single use. Cherry’s World became a way to give those items a second life. We like to keep our inventory ever-evolving: a lot of clothing that doesn’t sell during a season gets contributed to seasonal swaps like this one.

This program is presented in partnership with Shaker Museum, and it is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
