The Ghostly Gallop is a cherished autumn tradition in Hudson, known for its scenic city course and enjoyable family activities at the start and finish lines. This year marks the 24th annual Ghostly Gallop, where participants including runners, walkers, and volunteers come together to support the Hudson Area Library through a 5K road race and Kids One-Mile Fun Run. The 2024 race will be held on Sunday, October 27. This event is a significant fundraiser for the library, crucial for sustaining programs for both adults and children.
Key Points:
- The Kids One-Mile Fun Run is free for children aged 12 and under, starting at 10am.
- Each Fun Run participant receives a personalized race bib, a medal, and a free book courtesy of the Hudson Children’s Book Festival.
- The 5K race is free for students aged 17 and under, starting at 10:30am.
- A costume contest with exciting prizes adds to the festive atmosphere.
- The fastest male and female 5K finishers earn the prestigious Cranna Cup, named after William Cranna, a former library trustee and race co-founder.
- Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category.
