Free Virtual One-on-One Job Search Help

Beth Gordon with Dan Marinovic, a Literacy Connections volunteer at the library, 2019.

As part of the Hudson Area Library’s mission to serve the community we are expanding our Job Search Help program and offering it virtually during this time of health and economic crisis. This project is supported by a grant from the Fund for Columbia County of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation to the Hudson Area Library. It is a collaboration of Hudson Area Library & Roeliff Jansen Community Library.

Program Description: Lives change and so do jobs! Let’s be prepared for when we go back to work! Do you need to re-fresh your resume or brush up on your interview skills to land that next job? We have a Certified Career Services Provider, Beth Gordon, on our team who can work with you one-on-one – at a safe distance – by telephone, Skype, Zoom, or FaceTime.

Registration: Beth is available by appointment. Email programs@hudsonarealibrary.org or call 518-828-1792 x101 to schedule an appointment for a one-on-one session. Residents of the Roeliff Jansen Community Library service area or surrounding area can email director@roejanlibrary.org or call 518-325-4101.

One-on-One Job Search Help

We are now offering two different ways to receive one-on-one job search help:

1.) By appointment with Heather Martin, Area Coordinator of Literacy Connections or
2.) Fridays 10am – 12pm with Beth Gordon, NCDA trained Career Development Facilitator.

Both of these one-on-one sessions will focus on resume and cover letter writing, online job applications, job search resources, and interview preparation. Job hunters should have basic computer skills and bring a copy of their resume if they have one.

To sign up call 518-828-1792 x101, email brenda.shufelt@hudsonarealibrary.org or stop by the library circulation desk. The Job Search Help Consultations are made possible, in part, with support from a Mid-Hudson Library System adult literacy grant.
