FASNY Museum of Firefighting visits Pre-K Children’s Story and Craft Hour

fran fasnyJoin us Thursday, November 12 from 10am-11am in the Children’s Room for a morning of learning and fun! Come to our Pre-K Story Hour and meet your friendly neighborhood firefighter, Fran, as she reads a book and teaches about fire safety through interactive games. After the program, make a Dalmatian puppet to take home and practice fire safety with! All are welcome!

New Museum Passes Available

The Friends of the Hudson Library have recently purchased a new Museum Pass for Olana State Historic Site. With a valid Mid Hudson Library card, patrons may check out a pass that will allow free admission for up to six people (a $72 value). Passes may be borrowed on a first-come, first-serve basis for a three day period. House tours are included and reservations are encouraged.
The Library will also be receiving a new museum pass for the Columbia County Historical Society. This pass admits up to four adults, seniors, or children over the age of 12. Children under the age of 12 are always free.
Free passes are also available for the Fireman’s Association of the State of NY Museum of Firefighting in Hudson and the Sterling and Francine Clark Museum in Williamstown, MA. Call the library or stop in for more information.

Museum Pass For FASNY Museum of Firefighting Now Available


Hudson Area Library now owns a circulating Museum Pass for the Firemen’s  Association of the State of New York Museum of Firefighting. The FASNY Museum of Firefighting is dedicated to the preservation of firefighting artifacts, such as Young boy in Fireman's Helmetfire engines, gear, equipment, art, photos and more. Kids can try on firefighting gear, participate in a Bucket Brigade or Parade Activity, explore the Fire Safety and Prevention Discovery Room, and so much more! The Museum Pass: 

  • May be checked out on your library card for one business day
  • Admits a family of four (2 adults & 2 children under the age of 18)
  • Gives you and your family access to see the Museum’s hundreds of firefighting artifacts, as well as attend tours, events and more!
