Thank you to all who cruised on the Hudson River to support The Friends of the Hudson Area Library last Saturday! We met new friends and enjoyed a beautiful sunset accompanied by live jazz, warm breezes, and fireworks that did not disappoint!
A special thank you to all of our new friends, the local merchants and businesses in the area who donated treasure for our raffle. We are grateful for their generosity and supporting our fundraising, and now count them among the 250 strong Friends of the Library!
Set sail with the Friends of the Hudson Area Library for what is certain to be a high point of the summer, the Sunset Cocktail Cruise on the Hudson River, Saturday, July 12th. This year’s cruise will feature a spectacular local fireworks display with unobscured viewing onboard the Spirit of the Hudson.
The cruise sails from the dock at the Hudson Riverfront Park at 7:30pm for a festive evening of magnificent views of the Hudson Valley at sunset, live jazz, cocktails (cash bar) and hors d’oeuvres, all while cruising on the enchanting Hudson. Boarding begins at 7pm and will return to the waterfront dock at 10pm. Also featured will be a raffle with many unique items and free door prizes on board. Raffle items include theater tickets, gift certificates from local restaurants and shops, as well as many goods and services.

Tickets are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All tickets will be sold at the Hudson Area Library at $60 per person. Tickets are not refundable. The Friends of the Hudson Area Library announce a bonus to the Sunset Cocktail Cruise on the Hudson on Saturday, July 13th. Experience and enjoy first hand, the Athens Fireworks that evening from on board the “Spirit of the Hudson” right on the river!
In order to accommodate this new change, the cruise will now depart at 7:00 pm, one hour later than originally planned, with boarding set to begin at 6:30. All else remains the same—cocktails (cash bar), hors d’oeuvres, live jazz and magnificent views of the sunset on the Hudson. We will return to the dock in Hudson around 10pm.
Also featured will be raffle and door prizes, sold separately.
