The Friends of the Hudson Area Library is pleased to announce a new language learning program for adults coming soon to the library this spring. Starting April 16, this series of free classes will offer community members the opportunity to learn to read, write, and speak Mandarin Chinese from a native speaker.
The Mandarin Chinese for Beginners class will introduce students to basic vocabulary and phrases using Chinese pinyin – writing and reading phonetically using the Romanized alphabet. Students will also learn how to read and write simple Chinese characters. The class will run for 8 weeks from April 16 through June 4, meeting weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 at the Hudson Area Library, located at 400 State Street in Hudson.
