Program Description: Living Poetry at the Library with poets Mahogany L. Browne and Jive Poetic is an evening of poetry, prose, and performance. A discussion and reception follows the reading, allowing audience members to share their reactions, and to interact with the poets and each other.
Program Description: In collaboration with Fence and The Home School, we are pleased to host Living Poetry at the Library. Poets reading include Tess Brown-Lavoie, whose Lite Year won the Fence Modern Poets Series prize; Edgar Garcia, a Neubauer Family Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago; and Ariana Reines whose books of poetry include The Cow,Coeur de Lion, and Mercury.
Program Description: This event represents an ongoing collaboration between Fence, a locally produced, nationally renowned literary press, and the Home School, an annual poetry conference that takes place in Hudson every summer and which brings more than 60 poets to meet, study, read, and write. This collaboration puts visiting poets and the Home School community in touch with our local community of readers and writers at the library.
