Every fundraiser strives to be fun, but there is no disguising the real reason that we get together: we are supporting a cause close to our hearts.
From solicitations for Raffle Tickets to the Silent Auction, Tasting Room, and the Call for the Cause, everyone was there for our Library!
At the end of the evening, after dining and dancing, greeting friends and making new ones, guests contributed to a total profit that exceeded last year’s by almost 20%! Thanks to everyone who made Raise the Roof 2016 a big success!
Raise the Roof! Sock Hop August 6 6:30pm–10:30pm A benefit for the Hudson Area Library
Join us for al fresco drinks, dinner and dancing.* Park your rag top at the farm – less than 5 miles from Hudson. Cruise through the silent auction display, then grab some eats provided by a local chef. Join the gang and bid on an item that belongs in YOUR library. As soon as the sun goes down, stash your shades and kick off your shoes. Sing along with Bill Haley. Jitterbug to classic 45s. Join us for a little piece of rock-‘n’-roll heaven.
The first annual Raise the Roof! Gala, held on Saturday, August 15th, was a great success! Thanks to all who attended – in spite of the deluge that ended just minutes before the event began!
More than 200 people attended and most of them bought raffle tickets, too. Bidders upped the prices on silent auction items including private tours, distant destinations, private trainers and even lunch with Assemblymember Didi Barrett. And several in the crowd invested in pieces of Library equipment that will help us furnish our new space at the Armory.

I haven’t been to a fundraiser that I have enjoyed so much… lots of familiar faces, a beautiful evening on [a] gorgeous Columbia County farm estate, [a] feast of amazing food… My compliments to [you all] for your skills and perseverance in making this bold statement of commitment to Hudson’s new library.
The crowd was so enthusiastic that we’re all eager to get moving! Many thanks to the Host Committee Marie Rasner, Tessy Keller, Chris Boeke and Barbara Deisroth for organizing this great event. And thanks to the many volunteers, sponsors and vendors. We couldn’t have done it without your help!
