Composer/lyricist Neil Bartram (R) and director/writer Brian Hill (L) will be sharing stories of their myriad projects – including conceptual ideas and songs, during a performance at the Hudson Area Library on the Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend, October 9 at 6pm.
From their keyboards to opening nights, hear music peppered with stories from behind the Broadway curtains. For a separate admission, meet and mingle at a private dinner following the performance.

Storytime on the Go at Hudson Farmers Market, Saturday May 17th
The Hudson Area Library’s Storytime on the Go will visit the Hudson Farmers Market this Saturday from 9AM – 1PM. Join us this free event, which will include stories about nature and animals, songs, and puppetry.
Storytime on the Go is a mobile early literacy effort aimed at encouraging opportunities for parents and caregivers to read to their babies, toddlers, and young children. The event is best suited for children ages 0-5 and their families. Free board books will be available for participants to take home.
Storytime on the Go is made possible by the Hudson Area Library’s Kids First Initiative with grant support from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s Fund for Columbia County.

During the Hudson City School District’s Spring Break, the Children’s Room will offer special programming each day as well as our regularly scheduled programming. We hope you’ll join us! All ages welcome!

Will Pflaum, of Hudson’s new homeschool group HATCH, will translate an old Spanish poem that has never before been translated into English. Pflaum, who will instruct this program entirely in Spanish, will also teach kids a song from Argentina & have his guitar & drums on hand for some musical fun!

The Kids First Initiative, the Hudson Community Garden, & the HCSD Enrichment Initiative have collaborated for this exciting program. We will plant basil, parsley, lavender, mint, calendula, marigold, lemon balm & kale seeds using paper towel tubes & organic soil. Information will be provided on how to care for your plants at home & ideas for using your herbs, flowers, & veggies in recipes & teas.
