What’s the difference between hearing and listening? Can you listen with more than just your ears? What happens when we spend time listening to the world around us?
During part one of our two-part sound journey, we will take a listening walk from Hudson Area Library all the way to Kite’s Nest at the riverfront. Once we’ve reached our destination, we’ll have a light dinner before we head back to the library.
In part two, we will hone our finely tuned ears and learn how to use zoom recorders. We will work in groups to make field recordings in, around, and outside the library, and will share our sounds as a group during a light dinner. Zoom recorders and dinner provided.
Ages 9-18 for both sessions.
Date/Time: Wednesday, October 28 & November 4, 4 – 6pm
Location: Hudson Area Library Community Room. During the first session, we will depart for our sound walk to Kite’s Nest by 4:30pm.
