Use a Library Computer and Access Wifi

WiFi Access
If you have your own laptop, or other wi-fi enabled device, you may connect to the library’s WiFi network for free. Our network name is Hudson Area Library. Once you’ve connected, please read and accept our Internet Access Policy on the window that comes up in order to connect to the internet.

How Can I Access the Public Computers and Internet?
Library members may log onto the public computers using their library card number and personal identification number (PIN). Visitors with photo ID may request a visitor’s pass to access the Internet/computers.

How Much Time Can I Spend on a Library Computer?
Each public computer session is for one hour and each user may be granted up to two one-hour extensions per day. Three minutes before your session ends, your session will be extended automatically, if time and space allows.

How Do I Save a File?
The computers are automatically wiped clean of documents and downloads when the computer restarts. You will need to save your files to a flash drive or save them to the cloud before your session ends if you wish to access your files again.

How do I protect my privacy at the end of my session?
The computers are automatically wiped clean of documents and downloads when the computer restarts. The computers restart automatically when you click the End Session button. To ensure that your personal files or information are cleared from the computers, make sure to delete personal files from the computer and log out of all online accounts, or restart the computer.

How do I Print?
Printing is available from the public computers at 25¢ per page after your first page, which is free. Library patrons can add printing funds to their library card at the main desk for self-service printing, and all library guests can pay for their printing at the main desk of the library. You can also print remotely from home by visiting https://print.princh.com/?pid=110647

What If I Need Help?
Ask a library staff member if you need help with the computers. We will make every effort to assist you, but may be limited in the amount of time we can spend helping individuals one-on-one. If you expect to need assistance, please contact our Tech Services Librarian at tech@hudsonarealibrary.org to schedule an appointment for one-on-one support.
